NYPD Police Officer Michael Counihan is determined to break stereotypes about cops, and he’s providing us with a whole bunch of sexy selfies in the process.
Counihan has a popular Instagram account, @NoDonutsHere, that he uses to show off his extremely buff bod, in an attempt to prove that not all cops are hiding out in their cars bingeing on pastries and coffee.
“It’s to break the negative stereotypes against cops, that they are chubby and overweight and eat doughnuts,” says Counihan. “I wanted to build a platform to inspire first responders to be in shape.”
And if his internet fame is any indication, it could be working.
“Cops and firemen stop me all of the time on the street and say, ‘Hey, are you “No Donuts”?’ ” says Counihan.
He also, naturally, has found many adoring fans outside of the law enforcement world. And plans to use his love of fitness to shape and reach new career goals.
“I would like to do something within the department to help first responders on a one-to-one level,” says Counihan. “Or even branch out and set up a program where cops reach out to community members and get involved in their fitness.”
