From: Favorite Hunks & Other Things
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I like to sometimes share the motivation for some of my choices of favorites.
Flipping through a magazine from 1996 led me to the pic of actor Frank Grillo to the right. The pic instantly put me on the hunt to find out who this guy was. Frank has acted since the early 90's and was a popular actor on Guiding Light during the late 90's. Frank eventually married his co-star from the show in 2000. Frank is a hard working actor, popping up the last several years on Prison Break, CSI, Las Vegas, Without A Trace and other shows. He has also had roles in Minority Report, The Sweetest Thing and has several movies in production. I am sure you will agree Frank is one fine man who appears to only be getting hotter.
Frank Anthony Grillo (born June 8, 1963) is an American actor.
Grillo appeared in 25 commercials including ones for American Express, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese and Sure deodorant. The Sure deodorant commercial was airing when Frank first appeared in "Guiding Light" as Hart Jessep. Grillo is perhaps best known for his role as Nick Savrinn in Season One of Prison Break. He also had roles in other television shows and movies, including Blind Justice and Battery Park. He is also known for his very popular stint as Hart Jessup on the daytime drama Guiding Light from May 1996 through March 1999. Before this, he appeared in commercials for companies like American Express, Sure deodorant, and Miller Genuine Draft. A lifelong athlete, he was also a successful fitness model, appearing in magazines such as Men's Workout and Exercise & Health in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Recently, Frank Grillo played "Mr. Pig" in the Spike TV Series, "The Kill Point" which aired during the summer of 2007. He also played the role of Jimmy in the CSI: NY episode "The Things About Heroes," which aired on November 28, 2007. Frank also starred as Nick Savrinn in the hit drama "Prison Break" during the first season.
Grillo starred in the horror film Mother's Day in the role of Daniel Sohapi. Also in 2010, he starred in the ABC supernatural crime drama television series The Gates. The Gates was not renewed for a second season. Frank Grillo also starred in the crime drama Breakout Kings as a guest star for the episode 'Queen of Hearts' in season 1 as a minor federal agent. Frank also had a supporting role in the 2011 film Warrior. He played Diaz in 2012 survival thriller The Grey. Grillo played secondary antagonist Brock Rumlow in the 2014 film Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Grillo was born in New York City as the oldest of three children, and is of Italian heritage. He got his first taste of acting in high school where he was in many plays. Frank was also a gifted athlete and his dream was to play sports professionally. He graduated from New York University with a business degree. Frank serves on Love Our Children USA's Celebrity Board of Governors. He married his first wife Kathy in 1991, but the couple divorced in 1998. They had a son, Remy (born in January 1997).
