For its fourth (and final) animated-cartoon presentation, ABC Afterschool Special offers another effort from the DePatie-Freleng studios, a sequel to the earlier The Incredible, Indelible, Magical, Physical Mystery Trip. In describing The Magical Mystery Trip Through Little Red's Head to their affiliates, the ABC executives explained that the 45-minute special used "fantasy and humor to inform [children] about that strange world -- the mind." Fascinated with the story of Little Red Riding Hood, two youngsters submit to being shrunken in size, whereupon they literally enter Little Red's head. With their cartoon companion Timer as their guide, the kids are able to gauge Red's reactions to the various events surrounding her confrontation with the Big Bad Wolf -- and also, to observe the heroine's response to her first case of "puppy love."
