''Ryan was the first model photographed for Western Man, and there was more than one shoot, as evidenced by the addition of the mustache for the ''Manacle'' leather-session. A portrait from that series was later used as an Advocate cover. Falcon was interested in him for film work, but he declined to perform hard core sex-action before the camera. Bob (his actual name) lived in Oakland at the time and became a friend; but then moved to San Diego, where he was living when I photographed him (there) as cover man for Advocate MEN's third issue. Played softball for gay teams in S.F. and S.D.''
