Formed in 1995, the Kings Cross Steelers RFC was the first gay rugby team in the world. They are raising funds to help cover some of the costs in attending a global rugby tournament so they have produced a high quality 2014 Calendar.

The Kings Cross Steelers were established in 1995, and at the time were the first club in the world to promote itself as a 'gay' team. Since then, the club identifies itself as 'gay and inclusive' as we encourage players of all sexual orientations to join either as players or supporters.
Kings Cross Steelers 1XV team play in the Essex 2 League, with the 2XV playing in division 8. We offer competitive rugby at all levels, and pride ourselves in having a dedicated development squad for those who want to try rugby for the first time, or are rusty and need to re-establish long lost skills. Importantly, as we have such a strong social side, we also actively recruit supporters to help in the running of the club and cheer at the sidelines.
There are many gay and inclusive rugby clubs around the world, and the Steelers offer an international tournament every year, through either the Union Cup vs our European friends, or the Bingham Cup (www.binghamcup.com) vs all the gay friendly clubs round the world.
