IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO ALWAYS BE ORIGINAL. TO ALWAYS HAVE THE MOST CREATIVE IDEA. THOSE WHO WORK IN THE CREATIVE FIELD WILL MOST LIKELY AGREE WITH ME. IF YOU ARE A CREATIVE YOU KNOW THE PRESSURE TO PERFORM IS HUGE. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THAT BUT IN ANCIENT HISTORY, ARTISTS FOUND A GOOD EXCUSE FOR SOMETIMES NOT BEING ON TOP OF THEIR GAME. IT ALL HAD TO DO WITH GENIUS.
The word genius is strongly connected with having a moment of enlightenment, a great idea. But did you ever wonder where that word comes from? It’s rather simple. Genius derives from genie. And a genie was once considered to be an entity that would live in some kind of parallel universe, existing solely to whisper ideas in the ears of great creative artists. And so, if something wouldn't quiet go the way you wanted it to go, you could simply blame your genie. Genies are not entirely related to the past. They still exists, thought their job description has been altered over the years; Today a genie is known as a muse, which by the way is also a name that has survived centuries of history, and its function is simply to inspire. As it is definitely the case Dominic and Michael.
There is absolutely nothing strange about Dominic except for his name. Dominic Strange is a small town boy from Michigan, 21 years old, and trying to make it in the modeling and acting business. He is working 2 jobs and models and acts whenever he can. He loves both and believes one of the best parts is that he gets to meet people from the industry that can enrich his knowledge and experience. But there is more to Dominic than you would think at first glance. Dominic has been modeling since he was 17 years old, which is also the age he met Michael Dar. Dominic is also the father of a 4-years old boy, who he loves more than anything else. So you see, a man of responsibilities and dreams at the same time.
Michael Dar has over 20 years of experience if the fashion industry. First as model, then as model scout and finally as photographer. A passion he discovered for reel while he was scouting and shooting his discoveries. Photography and fashion has brought Michael to all the corners of the world? He has worked and lived in New York, Paris, Milan, Australia, Brazil, Los Angeles and it is what eventually brought him back to Chicago where he now resides. Michael is definitely a highly creative person and as stated above, often creative people need their genie or muse. Which Michael found in Dominic, whom he met 4 years ago. If you ask me, Michael couldn't have found a better one.
There is something about guys with long hair. For one reason or the other it accentuates a man’s masculinity more than anything else. It is definitely a look that works for Dominic Strange. Asides from giving him a virile aura, it also adds an angelic level to his personality. Something dreamy. When Michael Dar met Dominic for the first time he was caught off balance by the appearance of this beautiful long-haired Adonis… then only a senior in high school. As soon as Michael pulled out his camera, Dominic turned on like a light bulb. He obviously loves the camera, and luckily for Dominic, the camera really seems to love him back. The photos here are the result of one of the latest shoots Michael and Dominic did together, which they named “the morning after”. A shoot for which Dominic even sacrificed 12 inches of his hair and donated it to “locks of love”. Now if that isn't true dedication for great work… -BM-
