The B-52′s are still ahead of their time. Name another band that has been so irreverent, critically hailed, gay-beloved, actually gay, and Billboard-friendly. “Love Shack” was their commercial high point, and that’s a relief considering gay superhero Fred Schneider spends the entire video honking and hooting in his unforgettable voice. I’m completely fine with getting tetanus from the love shack’s tin roof.
