"Bravo debuted yet another reality series about rich people behaving badly last night, but Below Deck seems different, in part because it focuses on the people who have to serve the poorly behaved rich people. Oddly for a 2013-era Bravo docudrama, the first episode was rather watchable, and even had surprising moments.
Like Million Dollar Listing New York, which features former gay porn star Fredrik Eklund (aka Tag Eriksson), the series features a former gay porn star who’s now doing more safe-for-work work.
Below Deck cast member and former Marine David Bradberry did “a handful of scenes for amateur military studio ActiveDuty.com, as well as a film for Dirty Bird Pictures co-starring fellow aspiring Hollywood actor Brent Corrigan,” The Sword reports. He has received attention before for his work in porn. Bravo’s bio says he “is currently in a long term relationship with his boyfriend, Trevor,” who Dudetube says is gay porn star Trevor Knight." -- Reality Blured
"Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you already know that former Marine turned gay porn star David Bradberry has been trying to crossover into mainstream acting. And if an awful reality show on Bravo is mainstream acting, he’s one step closer to realizing his dream.
The New York Times‘ Neil Genzlinger calls Bradberry’s new Bravo reality show Below Deck a boring “ship of trolls” that he hopes will sail off the face of the earth, but maybe if the Times’ reviewer had seen Bradberry’s gay porn, he would think twice about being such a bitch.
After all, how could anyone say anything mean about someone with a cock and a face like this?
Bradberry’s short (yet…long) career in gay porn consisted of a handful of scenes for amateur military studio ActiveDuty.com, as well as a film for Dirty Bird Pictures co-starring fellow aspiring Hollywood actor Brent Corrigan (who must be just thrilled with David’s mainstream success), entitled Brent Corrigan’s Heat.
Before his acting career and even before the gay porn, David Bradberry (who also went by David Townson, David Townsend, and David Alanson) served in the military, which The Sword first reported in 2009. Part of his service included protecting President Bill Clinton, as The Sword reported in 2010.
Below Deck premiered, July 1st, and continues throughout the summer. While it really does look stupid (a reality show with actors pretending to be people who work on a yacht? that sounds like the plot of a gay porn), I’ll watch almost anything with a gay porn star in it. Plus, David Bradberry’s scene with Blake on ActiveDuty.com is still one of my favorite gay porn scenes of all time. And how can you not support his shitty reality show knowing how good he is at sucking dick?" -- The Sword
"We misidentify photos, misplace pronouns, and insert the wrong links all the time. So we can understand the embarrassment of Leatherneck Magazine — which bills itself as the “Magazine of the Marines” — after they featured a young corporal who just happens to be an amateur gay porn star.
In an article about a new Marines movie that stars active duty sailors, a one Cpl. David A. Bradberry, the real-life (former) Marine and star of a few ActiveDuty.com movies, where he goes by his real first name. The porn industry website The Sword has some NSFW photo evidence, and notes that the article says, “For most of [the actors] this is the first time they have ever acted.”
Not David.
He’s starred in such memorable numbers like Battle Cry and Summer Recruits.
Why such a big deal? Besides an ostensibly straight (with DADT, all
soldiers are presumed hetero!) guy being exposed for getting serviced by other men, among other things, the military has a history of firing ActiveDuty.com’s stars. When a few of Fort Bragg’s 82nd Airborne division’s finest popped up on the site in 2006, they were dismissed. Another was let go in 2007. An attorney representing Bradberry tells Queerty he received an honorable discharge from the Marines before starring in the ActiveDuty.com videos, thus removing any possible Article 125 (sodomy) violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice." -- Queerty
