Today, August 6 would have been Lucille Ball’s 105th birthday.
Ball was a film and television legend starring in Hollywood musicals like Best Foot Forward and becoming a household name worldwide with her classic sitcom I Love Lucy that ran from 1951 to 1957.
The comedy queen passed away in 1989, but in 1980 she did a very personal interview with People where she talked about everything from her divorce to drug use and LGBT rights:
How do you feel about gay rights?[Gay rights are] perfectly all right with me. Some of the most gifted people I’ve ever metor read about are homosexual. How can you knock it?
