Ahh, 2012! Let’s get in the Wayback Machine and take a trip to that simpler, more innocent time, when the world was doing it “Gangnam Style,” Lindsay Lohan gave us her incomparable Liz Taylor impersonation, that Mayan curse turned out to be a dud, and former Secretary Of State Colin Powell gave us the #1 song of the year, “Call Me Maybe.”
2012 was also the year that out director Lee Daniels received the box set of Dynasty and the Blu-Ray of The Lion In Winter, and while he formulated what was next for his entertainment empire, put the finishing touches on a steamy potboiler titled Paperboy.
Oh wait, it was titled THE Paperboy
Starring a blowsy Nicole Kidman, a lousy John Cusack, and Matthew McConaughey when he was still best known for bongos than Oscars, it also featured Zac Efron, who turns 28 today.
Wow, 28? It seems like just yesterday he was dancing on The Disney Channel and dropping condoms at Dr. Seuss films.
To celebrate, let’s pay tribute to Zac and his career-defining role in The Paperboy as “That Character He Played Who Was In His Underwear.”
