March 18th is National Biodiesel Day

Rudolf Diesel, inventor of the diesel engine, was also a pioneer of biofuels. On his birthday each year, March 18th, we celebrate National Biodiesel Day!

Way back in 1912,Diesel said,"...the use of vegetable oils for engine fuels may seem insignificant today, but such oils may become, in the course of time, as important as petroleum and the coal tar products of the present time."

How right he was! Let's take a moment today to celebrate how far we've come with biofuels!
