"Time to mix up my workout. For the last few months I’ve been doing a negative-rep-to-failure workout with 5/1 tempo based on the Colorado Experiment. Had moderate results. Lost fat while improving on some measurements, but the progress has levelled out.
Switching to BodyBuilding.com’s 8-Week Mass Builder. I kind of feel like its a bit of fluff because there is no mention of tempo or weight increment strategy.
First workout (Chest/Calves) was a B+. Very intense, I’m completely exhausted, but not nearly as wasted as when I workout to failure like my previous workout.
At 250-260lbs the side effects of my bodybuilding are really pronounced. This is when my sleep apnea happens, this is when my cardiac holiday happened, this is when my food budget gets the most expensive. I think I need to focus on body composition within this weight range…just getting bigger has rapidly diminishing results to well-being." -- Noodles and Beef
