I've got the Power! |

Tyrone Power
(1914—1958)
One of the biggest movie stars (box-office-wise) on this entire list, Power found overnight fame in his first starring role and worked steadily throughout the late '30s and all of the '40s—whenever he wasn't busy fighting with distinction in WWII. His flawless face was his calling card, but he was also a terrific actor and had great success on the stage here and abroad before his career sank under the weight of too many cheesy genre movies and he dropped dead of a heart attack at 44. His namesake son, born two months after Power's death, was a looker, too—remember him in Cocoon (1985)?
