“Winds of Change”
Jefferson Starship
The early 80’s were a transitional time for Jefferson Starship. They were edging toward a more arena rock sound, and it would be a few years before Paul Kantner left (and took the Jefferson with him). Their albums Modern Times and Winds Of Change weren’t well-received, but provided some solid singles, and two songs from that era are on this list. First up is the title track from 1982’s Winds Of Change, which peaked at #38 in March 1983. The video has Grace Slick showing Mad Max post-apocalyptic realness.
