Web Series Worth Watching:

Where the Bears Are and Winterthorne
From: Deep Dish
This week I'm choosing two Web Series of the Week - Where the Bears Are, which returns for its fourth season, and Winterthorne, the new drama from DeVanity creator Michael Caruso.
So let's start with the Bears, whose new season begins with a bang as someone is shot during Nelson and Todd's wedding ceremony. But then we flash back to two weeks earlier as the happy couple celebrate their upcoming nuptials with a backyard wedding shower - during which a murder is committed. Amusing performances abound once again from the wonderfully talented cast, which includes Ben Zook (Nelson), Joe Dietl (Wood), Rick Copp (Reggie), Ian Parks (Todd), Chad Sanders (Detective Winters) and George Unda (Detective Martinez). And there are hilarious appearances by returning guest stars Tuc Watkins (Dickie Calloway) and Brooke Dillman (Honey Garrett). I look forward to another season of furry gay fun!

To catch up on the first three seasons of the series, go to wherethebearsare.tv. You can also follow the Bears on Facebookand Twitter.

I'm also looking forward to more Winterthorne, which I would describe as Falcon Crest meets Willy Wonka. It's got green gumdrop trees, rainbow swirl lollipops and plenty of delicious drama. The story centers around the wealthy Miranda Winterthorne, who runs her family's candy empire with an iron fist and a mean slap. Martha Madison delivers an engaging performance as Miranda, and the cast also includes creator Michael Caruso as Miranda's husband Victor, John-Paul Lavoisier (One Life to Live) as Hugh (the man she didn't marry), Ron Hanks as her employee Jelly Bean Jimmy, Gordon Thomson (Dynasty) as her father Maxmillian, and the fabulous Linda Gray (Dallas) as her mother Joanna. And future episodes will feature appearances by two General Hospital actresses - Kirsten Storms and Kathleen Gati. So if you're craving a soapy family saga that's like a piece of candy - a little bit sweet, a little bit sour and a whole lot of fun to suck on - then I think you'll enjoy Winterthorne.
