Monday night, June 6, was the Public Theater Gala, an annual event staged at the Delcorte Theater in New York’s Central Park where Shakespeare in the Park is performed. This year’s theme was “The United States of Shakespeare,” and special guest Meryl Streep really took the Bard to a whole new level when she walked out onstage as Donald Trump.
In the grand finale for the event, Streep-as Trump-joined Christine Baranski (The Good Wife, The Birdcage) to sing a duet from the musical Kiss Me Kate, which was inspired by The Taming of the Shrew.
