American Eagle Outfitters Donates Times Square Billboard To LGBT Youth Group

The Hetrick-Martin Institute will launch its "Help Me Imagine" campaign in Times Square.
From: NewNewNext
Hetrick-Martin Institute, the New York-based LGBT youth organization, is launching its new awareness campaign in the biggest way possible: It’s broadcasting its message from a billboard in Times Square.

HMI’s new video campaign, “Help Me Imagine,” will debut in Times Square on Monday, appearing on an electronic billboard on 46th Street and Broadway donated by American Eagle Outfitters.

The billboard will feature vital facts about LGBT youth, as well as statements of hope from celebrity allies like Alan Cumming, Cheyenne Jackson and Tegan and Sara.

“Help Me Imagine” messaging will be visible for one minute every hour throughout the remainder of June, and will be joined by a social media campaign calling on users to share their hopes for the future with #HelpMeImagine.

HMI hopes to encourage the community to imagine a world where all young people, regardless of sexual orientation or identity, can achieve their full potential.

The Hetrick-Martin Institute has been helping LGBT youth since 1979, offering after-school programs, job-skill training, health services, therapy and more. The organization also partners with the The New York City Department of Education to offer programming and resources for New York’s Harvey Milk High School.

On Saturday, HMI will host its 16th anniversary School’s Out fundraiser in the Hamptons, with proceeds benefiting life-saving programs. Ticket information here.
