The Provincetown Film Festival is about to get a whole lot filthier.
Most John Waters fans have seen early films of his like Pink Flamingos, but his second feature, Multiple Maniacs is much harder to find-until now.
The film has been restored by The Criterion Collection, with Janus Films and will debut at the Provincetown Film Festival on June 17.
“Restoration is an amazing thing,” said Waters in a statement. “Finally, Multiple Maniacs looks like a bad John Cassavetes film! I couldn’t be more thrilled!”
After its debut in Provincetown, the “celluloid atrocity” will be released in New York on August 5, followed by a nationwide rollout.
