Last month, living icon Barbra Streisand announced that she would be setting off on an American tour to promote her upcoming album Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway. Now, the Funny Girl legend has treated us to not only the album’s cover art, but a surprise peek into one of the album’s tracks.
In a tweet posted Thursday, Streisand shared the gorgeous cover art for the album, which shows the singer lounging in a bedroom full of roses while casually thumbing through some sheet music.
Here's the cover of my new album ENCORE: Movie Partners Sing Broadway, available everywhere August 26! #BarbraENCORE pic.twitter.com/D4M0uQ49ku— Barbra Streisand (@BarbraStreisand) June 9, 2016
As if that weren’t enough to set our gay hearts aflutter, the star also shared the audio for one of the songs off the album, “At the Ballet,” from the hit musical A Chorus Line.
The track features Streisand in an unlikely pairing with actresses Anne Hathaway and Daisy Ridley, but to a surprisingly beautiful and touching effect. All three of their voices soar and though Streisand’s is a bit thin and raspy, it’s still just as sonorous as ever.
Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway is set for release on August 26. Along with Hathaway and Ridely, the album will feature duets with Hugh Jackman, Jamie Foxx, Chris Pine, Antonio Banderas, Seth MacFarlane and more.
