Nicholas Cortland
Actor. Born October 10, 1940, in Rockville Centre, Long Island, New York, he was a stage, film and television performer. He began his career on the stage and was doing lead roles at the American Conservatory Theater, San Francisco, when he was cast for a spot on the TV series "The Patty Duke Show" in 1965. His other television credits include "Mannix", "Kojak", "S.W.A.T.", "Mod Squad", "Search for Tomorrow" and "As the World Turns". For feature films, he made his screen debut in "Frogs" (1972), followed by "Bonnie's Kids" (1973), "The Day of The Locust" (1972), "Bear Island" (1979) and "New York Nights" (1984)
Nicholas Cortland died of AIDS on Aug. 21 at his home in Manhattan. He was 47 years old.
