This N’ That, a Williamsburg dive bar that fostered Brooklyn’s alt-queer scene, closed its doors after one last night, October 1, 2016.
“We would like to thank everyone for the great years. Thank you to all of our staff and nightlife talent that has graced our stage,” manager Andy Sinks wrote on Facebook. “Thank you everyone for the memories and good times.”
Only open for four years, TNT quickly provided an outlet for queers who didn’t fit into more mainstream cliques. It also welcomed Drag Race stars like Milk, Bob the Drag Queen and Thorgy Thor, who hosted a weekly party there.
“It’s been such a pleasure getting to know the numerous queens that have graced the TNT stage over the years,” posted DJ Kindbud on Facebook. “Some have gone on to much greater things, and some have gone straight back to the drawing board only to come back and try again. isn’t that the point of a performance space?”
