In the 1950s, Life Magazine ran an ad featuring well known contortionist Alf Carlson for Allen-A “Dittos” briefs. The “human pretzel” shows how the brief is fairly flexible, no matter what situation. According to the original ad, the briefs had a nylon-enforced crotch with self-adjusting properties and a full overlap for complete coverage. The fabric was Allenized, so it didn’t shrink or lose it’s shape.
