“You Won’t See Me Cry”
Wilson Phillips.
What The Hell Happened Here? Wilson Phillips had one of the biggest debut albums of all time, which yielded three #1 songs. The anticipation for the follow-up was enormous, and when the first single, the big gorgeous power ballad “You Won’t See Me Cry” was released, I remember Billboard exclaiming “Let the countdown to #1 begin!” Well … the single debuted in May 1992 at #96 and spent the next 8 weeks crawling to its peak of #20. It was a huge disappointment, they would only scrape the Top 40 one more time, and within a year Wilson Phillips was done.
