For more than 60 years, Europe has been home to the boldest and campiest music competition in the world: The Eurovision Song Contest.
Ahead of this year’s musical battle royale, Eurovision is provided a sneak peek at the 42 fierce competitors vying for the top honors. Now it might a good time to take a look back at them again.
Eurovision 2017 was held at the International Exhibition Centre in Kiev, Ukraine following the country’s victory at the 2016 contest in Stockholm.
This year, the 42 songs were to center on the theme “Celebrate Diversity.” As the samples below show, the entries offered an eclectic mix of power ballads and bubblegum pop, with plenty of opportunities for elaborate costumes and jaw-dropping choreography.
