Dozens Of ISIS Twitter Accounts Hacked, Filled With Gay Porn, Pride Messages

"I did it for the lives lost in Orlando."
From: NewNowNext
Following the horrific attacks at Pulse nightclub this past weekend, several pro-ISIS Twitter users came out to celebrate the mass shootings. One hacker found the out-pour so disgusting that he decided to infiltrate their accounts and fill them with pro-LGBT messages and links to gay pornography.

The hacker, who uses the online name WauchulaGhost and belongs to the hacktivist collective Anonymous, first started hacking ISIS Twitter accounts earlier this year. When he witnessed how irreverently many ISIS supporters were talking about the deadly attacks at Pulse, he saw it as the perfect opportunity to use his skills to honor the victims.

“I did it for the lives lost in Orlando,” WauchulaGhost told Newsweek. “Daesh [ISIS] have been spreading and praising the attack, so I thought I would defend those that were lost. The taking of innocent lives will not be tolerated.”

The vigilante hacker, who shared only that he’s based in the United States, believes that he’s taken over 200 Twitter accounts since the attacks this past weekend. Unfortunately, many of the accounts have been deleted, but WauchulaGhost plans to keep at the campaign with two fellow hackers who go by the names of Ebony and Yeti.

ISIS and its supporters have used Twitter for years as both a recruitment tool and a means by which to spread propaganda. Twitter estimates that it has shut down more than 125,000 of these extremist accounts since 2015.

Though WauchulaGhost made sure to include rainbow flags and pro-LGBT messages (such as “Out and proud” and “I’m gay and proud”) in all of his hack jobs, he refrained from including graphic imagery on the Twitter accounts in respect to Islam.

“One thing I do want to say is we aren’t using graphic porn and our purpose is not to offend Muslims,” WachulaGhost said. “Our actions are directed at Jihadist extremists. Many of our own [group of hackers] are Muslim and we respect all religions that do not take innocent lives.”
