Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick teamed up for a moving cover of the Cyndi Lauper classic “True Colors” at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.
The two traveled to the famous French film festival to promote their upcoming movie, Trolls. At an evening event, the co-stars took the stage to share a quick serenade with an audience of festival attendees.
“We are Anna and Garfunkel,” Timberlake said once he and Kendrick were on the stage. “Ok, we are going to give this a go, but you guys have to be nice.”
“We’re just friends here right?” Kendrick said jokingly to the crowd. “This isn’t like a big deal…we’re just hanging out in our living room.”
As it turned out, there was no need for either Timberlake or Kendrick to worry; with Justin on guitar and Anna providing subtle harmonies, their duet was a sweet and beautiful tribute to the iconic tune.
