A Disney movie featuring two gay men as the romantic leads is probably not something we’ll see hitting theaters anytime soon, but a meticulously edited music video is at least now giving us a glimpse of what it could be like.
YouTube user The Nameless Doll took footage from a slew of classic Disney movies and mashed them together under the song “Olet Puolisoni Nyt,” which means “You Are My Spouse Now,” in order to create an animated gay love story.
The leads are Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid and Dimitri from Anastasia. (Technically, the latter was produced by Fox Animation Studios, but was directed by former Disney animation directors Don Bluth and Gary Goldman.)
The Nameless Doll cites the fact that the word “spouse” doesn’t apply to a specific gender as the inspiration for the romantic video.
