Atlantic City Crowns Fifi Dubois Miss’d America 2015

"Drag Race" panelist Carson Kressley emceed the annual drag pageant
From: NewNowNext
Betty Cantrell was crowned Miss America some weeks ago, but Atlantic City held an even more over-the-top pageant last night, when Fifi Dubois was named Miss’d America 2015.

With her pillowy auburn hair and legs for days, Dubois (a.k.a. James Mullady) dazzled the judges with her beauty, grace and dancing skill. Hailing from New York, Dubois performs regularly at Boots ’n’ Saddles.

Drag Race judge Carson Kresley emceed the show, which saw nine queens strut their stuff in swimsuit, performance and interview segments.

Taking to the part like a natural, Kressley was hilarious and saucy—waltzing in with a papal cape and getting lap dances from the hunky Miss’d America Dancers. He made the city’s motto, “Do AC,” sound like a double-entendre.

Five finalists were chosen from the original crop of contestants: Dubois, Margeaux Powell, Sapphira Cristal, Alexis Michelle (first runner up ) and Pattaya Hart (runner up).

Dubois was crowned by the 2014 Miss’d America, Honey Davenport.

With Pope Francis throwing New York and Philadelphia in chaos, the Borgata’s Music Box theater was packed with folks looking to avoid the crush: Even Atlantic City’s openly gay mayor Don Guardian was in attendance.

Miss’d America began in 1993, when stylists and costumers from the Miss America pageant were looking to have a little fun of their own, and celebrate their community.

Proceeds from the show benefit regional LGBT organizations including the Greater Atlantic City GLBT Alliance.

The Miss’d America pageant is part of the Borgata’s Out at Borgata initiative, dedicated to LGBT guests.

Visit the Out at Borgata microsite and Facebook page for information on promotions, packages, entertainment and more—like the upcoming Madonna concert in AC on October 3 and Alan Cumming’s show at the Borgata’s Music Box on November 14.
