Model of the Week:

Jeffrey Hawkins
From:  The Underwear Expert

Jeffrey Hawkins has been featured in a few Andrew Christian videos as of late. Who can forget his epic twerk battle with Jon Varak or his insanely awesome Broga skills? That said, he wasn't always the life of the party character that he is today. Looking back on high school, he’d refer to himself as the chill guy in the corner minding his own business. High School was also a difficult time for Jeffrey in being open about who he was sexually. According to him, it wasn't so popular to be out in his hometown of Montrose, Co.

Every Russian Christmas…which is usually around January 7, my family eats Pierogis and Kielbasa. We have a tradition where we put silver coins inside a bowl of water, and we wash our face with money. It’s pretty much giving you good fortune throughout the year.

My favorite pair of Andrew Christian underwear are…the Almost Naked boxer briefs. I like the feel of trunks. I’m from Colorado, so, I like to keep warm. If something happens, and I lose my pants, I’d like to be able to walk around without my butt showing and full on front hanging out. I want the coverage. I don’t want a cold butt.

My least favorite underwear are…ones with pouches. I just don’t like grabbing my junk, putting it into a hole, and having it out there. Not the best for going to the gym neither.

The sexiest underwear on a guy are…trunks. I think they are masculine. Ever since the Calvin Klein Marky Mark poster, I think boxer briefs are sexy.

I got interested in underwear modeling…after I graduated college and moved out to Denver. That’s where I found myself as a gay person. My first boyfriend introduced me to all the Andrew Christian stuff. He got me my first pair and showed me the videos. I saw the videos. Saw the fun they were having, and that’s what I wanted to do. I didn’t plan to come out to California to be an underwear model. I came out to California to get into video production, which was my major. So, as soon as I got out there, I began to Go Go dance because it was good money. Then I met Quinn

Jaxon. I call him my straight boyfriend. When I had started Go Go dancing, he was still modeling for Andrew Christian. When I met him, we bonded like crazy. We were always hanging out and working out. Later on, I met other people who worked for Andrew Christian. They liked my look and wanted to use me.

My favorite Andrew Christian video is…Broga. That said, I’m my harshest critic. Every time I watch myself in a video I’m in, I cringe a little. I get a bit self conscious. I think I looked my best in an upcoming strip tease video. I did one alone and one with Murray Swanby. I helped shoot those and edit those. I liked those because they were tasteful.

I learned how to twerk…from my college roommate.

She had a booty like no other. Every time we would go out, she would twerk. This girl was crazy. So, she actually gave me lessons. I would put my hands up on the wall, and she’d tell me to bounce up and down. She was my mentor, my Obi Wan.

The first time I ever Go Go’d was…with Tigerheat Club Eleven. It was an audition. I had just underwear, and I felt comfortable with my body. I just went out there, hopped up on a bar and started dancing. Next thing led to another, and I kept getting comfortable in my skin. I started doing the underwear modeling, the shoots, and the video, and I didn’t have any problems with them.

My favorite song to Go Go dance to isDiplo Express Yourself. I’m pretty sure Jon Varak gave the same answer.

My favorite Go Go outfit was…my mad hatter outfit for a Disney themed night. I love Disney.

My favorite Disney Character is…Mickey Mouse. He’s my homeboy. He’s the leader of the pack. Has his own show and song. I still have my plush Mickey.

I grew up in…Montrose, Co. I was there for middle and high school. Growing up was fine. I had a group of friends. People didn’t really mind me. I was that guy at the party drinking his beer in the corner chilling. I was on speech team. I would hold parties at my place and not invite the popular kids. I pretty much stuck to myself. At that point, I was denying myself, telling everyone how hot I thought certain girls were. I’m 28 now, and, at that time, being gay still wasn't something that was acceptable. No one came out in my hometown. I didn’t

know anyone who was gay. There was a lot of pressure and stuff going through my head about whether it was socially acceptable. I was scared. If I  can relive the experience in this time now, I would totally be out. There are a lot of shows out there changing people’s perspectives on gay people. It’s definitely a different time.

I’m at a place in my life where…I just need my soul cleansed. Hanging out in West Hollywood is eating at me too much. I need time some purification time. Recently, I took part in the NoH8 campaign with Murray and a friend of mine. Before that, I did the AIDS walk in West Hollywood. On December 14, I am headed over to Ethiopia for ten days to work with Habitat for Humanity. My friend Alex who lives in England has been doing Habitat for Humanity for ten years. He just asked me one time, and I wasn’t going to do it originally. Then, I changed my mind. I wanted to help out and didn’t have any plans for that time, nothing holding me back.

My favorite place I’ve visited…was Spain. All the palaces and castles were beautiful. It was a big culture shock, but, was also very open and accepting. It was also very historic. I love history. When I tour around places like that, I’m always curious about what happened there. It’s kind of weird and morbid, but I enjoy the violent, gory side of history. I’m always fascinated by massacres or things like that. I watch CSI, NCIS, and all those shows with serial killers. They’re so insane, and

they make me want to examine them.

In five years…I want to open up my own production studio or working for one. Back in high school, I helped put together a 10-12 minute show every Friday called Channel M. It had a feature story, a sports report, and anchor. By my senior year, I was playing many roles from writing to camera work. When I started doing it, I got awards and went to competitions. So, I knew it was good at.
