Naked skydiver thanks gay community for supporting fundraiser to help terminally ill children

From: Pink News
A North Staffordshire skydiver has thanked the gay community for supporting him in his efforts to do a charitable naked skydive.

To say the response to the skydive has been good would be an understatement. I wildly underestimated the kindness and generosity of people, and I’m overwhelmed by the response I’ve had. It’s touching that not just friends and family, but complete strangers from several different countries would pledge so much. Thank you all so much!

The bisexual council worker promised to parachute out of plane naked at 10,000ft, in the freezing cold, providing he could raise £500 in sponsorship for his chosen charity, The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice.

The hospice provides a range of specialist care and support services for children with a shortened life expectancy in Stoke-on-Trent.

At the time of publication, Dan had raised £1,280 – well over double the initial target.

There is no doubt in my mind that the national and international LGBT community have played a massive part in the success of this fund-raising activity,” adding: “It is truly awe-inspiring to be backed by organisations such as PinkNews. To see donations coming in from as far as the USA and Canada just shows how giving people can be for a good cause.”

The money raised will be used to build a playground for the children of the hospice.
