“Mean Girls” Musical Officially Set For 2017 Premiere

The announcement even came on October 3, known as national "Mean Girls Day."

 “Fetch” still may never happen, but at least a musical version of Mean Girls officially will.


 The 2004 classic will get a musical theater re-imagining, and Tina Fey, the film’s original screenwriter, is working on the script for the stage version as well.

Fey’s husband and 30 Rock composer Jeff Richmond will be responsible for the music alongside Legally Blond:The Musical lyricist Nell Benjamin.


The show is set to debut in Washington D.C. next fall, but so far, no other details have been released.
