Doug Ross: Storm Drain Superhero
This was the real Perfect Storm (nyuk!) : a dynamite second-season episode of TV’s highest-rated drama ER featuring the heroic storm drain rescue of a child, incredible suspense, and a fame-catapulting performance from George Clooney as the hot-as-hell Dr. Doug Ross. After this episode, Doug Ross was ER‘s breakout phenomenon, even if he was the only actor in the main cast never to be nominated for an Emmy. I hope the two Oscars (and six nominations in six different categories, an Academy record) have made up for it.
