September 1st is International Day of Awareness for the Dolphins of Taiji

September 1 is the start of the Taiji Dolphin Hunt. During the 2010-2011 drive hunt, the Taiji Fisheries Union killed 850 dolphins. An additional 171 were sold into captivity.
