Zachary Qunito beams onto the stage of Spike TV’s Lip Sync Battle this week, in advance of the premiere of Star Trek: Beyond on July 22.
In this sneak peek, Quinto channels hip-hop queen Missy Elliot in a performance of “Get Ur Freak On,” complete with chains, lipstick, and hot backup dancers.
“It’s pretty high intensity, a lot of production elements,” Quinto tells Entertainment Weekly. “Basically it’s a live performance that I’ve had about two days to rehearse for, with a 700-person audience.
The Heroes star admits he was a bit daunted by the challenge, which saw him go up against Star Trek co-star Zoe Saldana.
“It’s unlike anything I’ve done, which is why I wanted to do it, but I feel like I’m going to bring it.”
It must have gone well, because Quinto later posted this pic of himself and boyfriend Miles McMillan in the tub, with the caption “Perfect end to my lip-sync battle.”
