Groovy Actor
William Christopher
Mr. Christopher, who died on December 31 at age 84, was best known for his role as Father Mulcahy on the 1972-83 CBS series, M*A*S*H, and its 1983-85 CBS spin-off, AfterMASH. He also played the recurring role of Private Lester Hummel on the CBS sitcom, Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. (1965-68). He made his Broadway debut during the 1962-64 run of the British revue, Beyond the Fringe, and appeared in a national tour of the show. Other stage credits include a 1997 tour of The Odd Couple (with his M*A*S*H co-star Jamie Farr) and a 2008–09 tour of the musical comedy, Church Basement Ladies.
