Years & Years Drops Sexually Explosive Video For “Worship”

"I want to stare down fear and intolerance with the queer eyes in my queer face."
From: NewNowNext
A week after frontman Olly Alexander delivered an impassioned message about queer pride at Glastonbury, Years & Years have dropped a wonderfully queer new video for “Worship.”

The song will serve as the eighth and final single from the band’s hit 2015 debut album, Communion.

The video tracks a gang of young men prowling around an empty parking garage, dancing up a sexual energy that explodes as Alexander climbs on the hood of a car and licks the windshield.

Alexander described the “magical queer creative energy” to Gay Times.

“I want to stare down fear and intolerance with the queer eyes in my queer face. I want to try to not be afraid. I know I’ll make mistakes, but I want to keep going,” he said.

“I’ve seen the incredible amount of support and love from our fans and I’ve learnt a lot from them. I can only hope that the dialogue continues and we trust each other enough to carry on.”

“Brooklyn Nine Nine” Stars Stephanie Beatriz Comes Out As Bisexual

"Yup."
From: NewNowNext
They say when a well-known personality comes out, it makes it easier for other people to come out, too.

That was literally the case this weekend, when Brooklyn Nine Nine actress Stephanie Beatriz came out as bi by retweeting a comment by Aubrey Plaza, who said she has fallen in love with both men and women, and adding “Yup.”

A follower then asked Beatriz if she meant she was bisexual (via emojis) and the actress confirmed it.

In June, Beatriz attended New York City Pride and posted an Instagram video.

Zachary Quinto To Star In New Science Drama Series, “Biopunk”

From science fiction to science fact!
From: NewNowNext
Star Trek’s Zachary Quinto is set to star in and executive produce a new hourlong science drama series called Biopunk, based on the book Biopunk: DIY Scientists Hack the Software of Life.

According to TV Line, Quinto will play the “rebel-rousing leader of a group of guerilla scientists striving to become, in essence, the Steve Jobs of biotech.”

Deadline reports:

Biopunk chronicles the underground world of bio-hackers—DIY garage scientists seeking to do for biotech what Steve Jobs did for personal computing. These are young and hungry guerilla scientists committed to democratizing DNA the way the internet did for information, with the ambition to build never-before-seen organisms that could solve the thorniest challenges in food, health, energy, and environmental protection.

“I knew immediately this edgy, activist, kick-down-the-walls subculture of citizen scientists was my way in to telling a bigger canvas story about the next great technological evolution no one knows is coming but will change everything: hacking life,” Biopunk creator and writer Chase Palmer (co-writer of the upcoming film remake of Stephen King’s It) told Deadline.

“Having spent some time in my career exploring the landscape of science-fiction — it is a particularly exciting step to delve into a world of science-fact,” Quinto said in a statement.

He added: “The unfathomably thrilling real-life work of bio-hackers is dramatically crafted with compelling and complex dynamics by Chase Palmer, and Marcus Wohlsen is a limitless source of insight into and information about this powerful and fascinating subculture. Legendary has been a great partner in the developmental phase of this project, and we are all beyond excited to assemble a first rate creative team and bring Biopunk to life.”

Biopunk has yet to be pitched to networks, but in the meantime, you can catch Quinto in Star Trek Beyond, in theaters July 22nd.

YouTube Singer Bryan Hawn Tells Haters To “Kiss My Ass” In New Music Video

"Pucker up cause it's waiting for you."
From: NewNowNext
Singer, parody-maker and fitness author Bryan Hawn has made a name for himself as the go-to source for scantily-clad lip-syncs ever since the video of his fantasstic rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” went viral two years ago.

In the years following this first parody, Hawn has shown off his best assets in dozens of videos for hits such as “Chandelier,” “Hello,” “I Just Had Sex,” and “Pretty Hurts.”

Though Hawn’s accrued a large fan base, he still deals with plenty of trolls who fill up the comments sections of his videos with vitriol and hate. While some YouTubers might shrink at the criticism, Hawn decided to step to the naysayers with a song inspired by his trademark ass.

The song, “Kiss My Ass,” dares haters to do just that. Amid shots of Hawn shaking his famous derriΓ¨re, a catchy refrain pulses in the background:

“Kiss my ass Trying to tell me what I can & can’t do Kiss my ass Pucker up cause it’s waiting for you.”

Orlando shooting survivors appear in star-studded musical tribute video

Three survivors of the Orlando massacre have appeared in a charity music video in the wake of the tragedy.
From: Pink News
A number of megastars teamed up with GLAAD earlier this month to release the track ‘Hands’ in the wake of the mass shooting – which killed 49 people and left more than 50 injured.
The track, which raises funds for Equality Florida, the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida, and GLAAD, features a string of artists including Britney Spears, P!nk, RuPaul, Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J Blige, Adam Lambert, Imagine Dragons and Jason Derulo.

The music video for the track was released this week – and features a number of YouTube stars, as well as three survivors of the attack.

Survivors Patience Carter, Tiara Parker, and Angel Anthony Santiago are featured in images created from their hospital rooms and following release.

The video also features still footage of the families of gun violence victims and survivors from across the nation visiting the scene of the makeshift Orlando memorial in the days after the attack in order to send a message of solidarity and support.

Zeke Stokes, GLAAD’s Vice President of Programs, said: “The video for ‘Hands’ adds even more emotion and power to the song’s poignant lyrics.

“The tragedy in Orlando deeply shook everyone in the LGBT community, and this video shows a diverse array YouTubers united to pay tribute to the lives lost.

Equality Florida Executive Director Nadine Smith added: “Orlando’s broken hearts have been lifted by the outpouring of love and support from people near and far.

“There has been beauty in the midst of our grief and we are grateful to these talented artists, producers, and GLAAD for helping us mourn and laugh and cry and sing together.”

‘Hands’ writer and producer Justin Tranter said: “The second I heard about this horrible tragedy where so many of my LGBTQ brothers and sisters lost their lives, I immediately got on a plane to Orlando to volunteer my help anyway I could.

“Putting this charity single together is just a way for me, and everyone involved to keep volunteering our help and promote peace and love in the world.”
