Calling Cartoon Network!
From: NewNowNext
Always wished your Scoobies looked a little more like the actual Scooby Doo gang?

If so, then you’re in luck because Seattle-based illustrator Stephen Byrne has created a trailer for The Animated Adventures of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer a cute cartoon take on the supernatural exploits of Buffy Summers as she battles Sunnydale vampires with her friends.

Since ending in 2003, Buffy has lived on in video games, a comic series and now this animated trailer, which would take place after the series finale.

Buffy isn’t the first pop culture property to get a cartoon makeover by Byrne. He also did a trailer for The Animated Adventures of Doctor Who, and he’s illustrated the world of Harry Potter and illustrated a comic book version of Serenity.

A Memorial Day Weekend Reminder From Artist Hanksy

From: Accidental Bear
Street artist Hanksy has been killing it this year artistically and politically

Hanks has reminded us the unflattering truth about Memorial Day Weekend with new pieces that he pasted up around Manhattan.

The four pieces are a little darker than his typical work—he explained to us this morning: “At 19 my grandfather was liberating France during World War II. While at the same age my largest concern was figuring out how to sneak beer into my college dorm. I’m not a fan of war, but I respect those who have served. Willingly or not. These posters are just a small reminder that in-between your long weekend beach selfies and third bottle of rosé, you should acknowledge the real reason everyone has the day off.”

The pieces are still up and you’ll find them on the LES and in Chinatown.

50 Businesses That Have Supported The LGBT Community

Gap

When Gap launched an ad campaign featuring two men pressed together under a shared t-shirt, anti-LGBT group One Million Moms, which is part of the American Family Association, launched a boycott, stating, "GAP Inc. Brands, including Old Navy, Banana Republic, Piperlime, and Athleta, does not deserve, nor will it get, money from conservative families across the country. Supporting GAP is not an option until they decide to remain neutral in the culture war. GAP needs to seriously consider how their immoral advertising affect the youth of our nation."

48 GUYS YOU MIGHT POSSIBLY WANT TO FUCK

From: Manhunt Daily
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

Hey Guys, been single for a little bit now, i usually reply, prefer men that look after themselves.

I am open to whatever but that doesn't mean I am open to anything. I am happy to have friends/fun/date/fuck buddy, very much doubt i will meet a partner on here and thats fine. I am somewhere between 'Athletic' and 'Muscular' as I have tone and go to the gym very reguarly. Like to be active and keep fit, love to go out for a dance and I am very creative. Not into drugs at all. Healthy body, healthy mind :) I prefer white/European men that look after themselves(please note this as sexual attraction is not flexible) active and happen to be sure of themselves, can't be bothered with games.

“Elska” Magazine Challenges Racism In Gay Community With New Taipei Issue

"The freedom, the vibrancy, the strong LGBT rights legislation—[Taipei] is the capital of gay Asia."
From: NewNowNext
We’ve been diligently following Elska magazine as editor-publisher Liam Campbell travels the globe to meet gay men and learn about their communities and cultures. The new issue, out now, sees him traveling to Taipei, Taiwan.

“Not many people really think of Taipei when they list off the top Asian cities, but it really seemed to be the capital of gay Asia,” Campbell tells NewNowNext. “The freedom, the vibrancy, the strong LGBT rights legislation… this is the ’gaysian’ epicenter par excellence.

Surprisingly for such a conservative country, Campbell says the guys in Taipei were totally open to being photographed for the magazine. “They were the most daring aside from the Berliners,” he reveals. “This was the first issue where I had to actually turn guys away!”

Fourteen local men welcomed Elska’s cameras into their homes, posing naturalistically without airbrushing, stylists or sets. Each also offered a personal story taken from their life in the city—from coming-out tales and love affairs to life-changing voyages and dealing with discrimination.

Campbell acknowledges one of the highlights of the Taipei issue is being able to showcase Asian men, “who are still practically invisible in gay media, or any media, especially when shown in a sexual light.”

“One of the most disheartening things was how many of the Taiwanese guys we shot worried that no one would buy the issue because of how aware they felt that Asian men are apparently unsexy.”

Like Campbell, we think this issue finally puts that myth to bed.

“Broad City’s” Paul Downs

From: Queerty
On the hit stoner-millennial-scripture that is Comedy Central’s Broad City, Paul W. Downs plays Trey, that guy we all know who just doesn’t quite “get it.”
Sure, he’s sweet and all, but all those dad jokes end up amounting to quite the eye roll.

Oh, are we being dicks? Yeah, probably — and so was Abbi when she totally messed up her date with him.
But one thing we can all agree on — he’s super hot. Hot in that “we bet you know know your way around a gym like you know your way around the Marvel Universe” sort of way

Paul is also on a show called The Characters, and one of those characters recently had no clothes on.

A Question of Character: Curtis Carter by Jamtron Studio

From: Favorite Hunks & Other Things

'Working with Curtis is like working with an actor inhabiting different roles'

David's (Jamtron Studio) quote above about working with model Curtis Carter hit exactly on what I loved so much when discovering the imagery they created together. The first of David's images of Curtis that I saw were not actually Curtis, but a character named Javier,, who was created during one of their shoots together.

I'll introduce you to Javier, the incredibly hot tree trimmer in a post later. But before meeting Javier I want to introduce you to the photographer and model who created him. I first introduced FH readers to work of Jamtron Studio back in the winter of 2014. (Flawless) After seeing just one of David's images of Jourdon, I had to see more of his work. I felt exactly the same way after seeing my first image of 22 year old Curtis Carter. I saw Curtis' avatar and had to instantly click in order to see more of his portfolio.

I especially love how David so beautifully weaves edgy and erotic themes within extremely tasteful and classic images of the male form.  I think it has to do with David's focus.  David's focus remains his subject, there face and eyes and their expression of character and emotion.  Even within his images featuring nudity, there is an integrity of character which is always maintained. David and Curtis make a perfect creative team, something that Curtis shares started from the beginning . 'David and I connected through ModelMayhem. He liked my photos, I liked his.'

Within their many shoots together, Javier isn't the only role Curtis took on.  Curtis is incredibly versatile in front of the lens, sometimes he seems to be channeling the naive and sweet boy next door, other times, Curtis exudes an intense bad boy vibe.  The guy you know you should stay away from, but he makes it pretty much impossible to resist.  No matter what role the talented model takes on, he is incredibly sexy with his beautiful brown eyes, drawing you in every time.

'Curtis is so much fun to work with, it's truly a collaboration. I'll suggest an idea or outfit, and he makes a suggestion or addition that pushes the images that much further. He's up for anything,. He seems to change his persona to fit whatever project we happen to be working on. I've worked with him a number of times, and it's always exciting to see what new images we can come up with.'

'I love modeling because it gives me the freedom to express myself in my OWN way. I love speaking through pictures rather words. It says a lot about someone if they can tell a whole story through one picture of someone. Posing nude also gives me the ability to be completely free. It gives me power and self motivation and often courage to try bigger and better things!'
