History's Hottest Movie Actors:

From:  Boy Culture
 Sitting pretty

#67
Rudolph Valentino
(1895—1926)
Valentino's exotic, naturally Art Deco looks for some reason don't readily translate to our modern tastes; he is remembered as a silent-movie icon, but few pant over him as they continue to do over Marlon Brando or James Dean, whose heydays came 30 years after Valentino's. During his time, he was derided as a pansy by jealous male movie-goers, and it's easy to see why—his delicate features and style do read as somewhat feminine.

But that's part of what I find to be so alluring in him—like all great icons, he represents the male and the female and has a singular aura, like a great star at the center of a universe.

Nichols (also known as James Garner as Nichols) is an American Western television series starring James Garner broadcast in the United States on NBC during the 1971-72 season. Set the fictional town of Nichols, Arizona, in 1914, Nichols differed from traditional Western series of the era. The main character, a sheriff, rode on a motorcycle and in an automobile rather than on the traditional horse. The hero did not carry a firearm and was generally opposed to the use of violence to solve problems, preferring other means. Margot Kidder portrayed Ruth, the love interest/barmaid of Nichols.

From: Queerty
Grab the honey pot and get cozy — these cubs of Instagram have us feeling seriously cuddly.
In case you’re new, cub is the affectionate term for a younger, thicker, usually-furry future bear.
And while we’re sure there have to be some mean ones out there, cubs tend to be some of the greatest guys around.

CDC: Gay Porn Actor Transmitted HIV After Negative Test Results

From: Wicked Gay

"Officials from Center for Disease Control said that a gay porn actor likely transmitted HIV to at least two men even though testing results for the performer said he did not have the disease, Towleroad reports.

A report from the CDC, which was published on Feb. 12, says the unnamed 25-year-old gay porn actor was tested for HIV in 2014 and the results came back negative. He went on to have unprotected sex with 12 other performers as well as five non-work partners. The report adds, "the performer, having tested negative by nucleic acid amplification test within the preceding 14 days, and unaware of his very recent HIV infection, infected another performer and a non-work-related partner."

The report also says none of the men, including the men who did not contract the virus, were on PrEP." Full story here!

Are You Suffering from Presidential Political Burnout Yet?

From:  Wicked Gay

Although I consider myself a political person, I am nearing my breaking point with the non stop political coverage every where I look. My Facebook and Twitter feeds are all political articles, each trying to bring up or tear down a specific candidate. You can't watch a TV show without every commercial being an ad from a candidate or super pac. You can't even go for a ride without seeing bumper stickers like "Make America Great Again" staring you in the face.

I understand that as an American voting is one of the single most important things we can do. I get how crucial selecting the next President very carefully is. That all being said, is it wrong that I would like to go just a day or two without having to see ANYTHING political. I would like to take a political holiday. Just one day out of life, it would be so nice!

“Spa Night” Director Andrew Ahn Reveals A Secret World of Gay Hookups

"We're maybe going to have a little controversy from the Korean-American community."
From: NewNowNext
Andrew Ahn’s debut film, Spa Night, debuted at Sundance last month, centering on a immigrant Korean family in San Francisco struggling to assimilate while still respecting the traditions of their homeland.

Son David (Joe Seo) takes a job in a Korean spa to help makes ends meet, but discovers a hidden world of gay sex, which he finds terrifying but thrilling.

Spa Night has received rave reviews for its subtle storytelling and compelling performances. The film started with a Kickstarter campaign that raised $62,915. “It was something I really wanted to tell, because it’s a personal story,” said the out writer-director. “It’s something that I feel strongly about. I’m thinking a lot about a gay and Korean-American identity, what does it mean to be both these people?”

“This film is breaking some boundaries,” he adds. “And we’re maybe going to have a little controversy from the Korean-American community because homosexuality isn’t talked about a lot. That’s also why I really knew I had to make this film—it had a meaningfulness to the community.”

Below Ahn and Seo discuss Spa Night with The Wrap.

An Iraqi Soldier And A U.S. Soldier Found Wartime Love In Iraq

From: Queerty
Betu Allami and Nayyef Hrebid
Two soldiers found love in the unlikeliest of places, and their story is definitely one for the ages.

Back in 2004, Nayyef Hrebid and Betu Allami were both soldiers working together to secure a Ramadi hospital that had been taken over by insurgents. Hrebid was an interpreter with the U.S. Marines, and Allami was a soldier with the Iraqi Army.

The men spent a great deal of time in a safe house together sharing meals and conversation, and Hrebid says their bond led to something more:

“We fight. So what we talk about is our life and past, about how we feel, about where we like to be in the future. And that was very beautiful in that difficult moment.”
After just a few days, Allami professed his love to Hrebid, who returned his confession with a kiss. Though the two men found love, they were still in a very homophobic place.

In Iraq, the men faced prison or even violence just for being gay. Hrebid shared just how dangerous it is to be gay in Iraq:

“It’s losing your life. You get shame to the family. You lose your family, and you lose your friends, you lose everything almost. That is why there is other ways to be gay, just between you and maybe the other person.”
In 2009, Hrebid was given asylum in the U.S. after being targeted by insurgents for his work in Iraq, but he was forced to leave Allami behind. Even though he was working with U.S. forces, Allami’s past as an Iraqi soldier made it difficult for him to get a visa to enter the U.S., but a friend got him to Beirut and then to Canada, where Hrebid visited him weekly.

The two men were married on Valentine’s Day of 2014 in Vancouver. Nearly a year later, the couple was finally able to get an appointment with U.S. Immigration, and Allami was approved to live in the United States. Hrebid was elated:

“I lost myself. I really lost myself because this finally is happening. We could live together. I want to wake up to up see him in front me. And when I close my eyes, he’s the last face I see.”
The two were married in the U.S. in August 2015 and have settled in Seattle.

We encourage you to listen to the entire 7-minute piece. It’s quite lovely, and although Valentine’s Day has passed, we’re sure you have time for a little bit of romance.

Alexi Carpentieri by Drew Kamp

'Modeling gives me a kick, I feel empowered, bad and sexy!'

Last year, I had the privilege of twice featuring the imagery of model Alexi Carpentieri. FH kicked off the summer on July 1st with a profile and interview with the 23 year old Swedish model. Alexi lives the life many think many male models live, travelling across the globe for shoots, campaigns and movie roles. It is no wonder given the models incredible look and attitude about his work and career. When I saw images of Alexi in Drew's portfolio, he graciously supported my giving them a little special attention.

'Alexi is one of my favorite models. He is an artist very confident with his body. I am looking forward to work with him in the future, next time in summer if possible. Last shooting was in February, so it's kind of cool for outside shooting in Berlin.'

A Third Of Trump Supporters Want To Ban Gays From The U.S.

What a shocker.
From: NewNowNext
On the heels of presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s controversial pledge to ban Muslims from entering the US, Public Policy Polling has released a new poll out of South Carolina that indicates that not only do a vast majority of his followers support the pledge, but that 31 percent of them also support the banning of Gays in addition to Muslims.

The graph shows that, though each candidate had at least some portion of their base indicate a preference for banning homosexuals, Trump’s base showed disproportionate support for the measure.

The sample size for the poll was on the small side, only 897 Republicans were surveyed, but the data is troubling nonetheless, especially as Trump continues to gain steam moving into November.
