TRUMP ACCOUNTABILITY PROJECT LAUNCHED BY GLAAD

From: Wicked
On December 1, GLAAD announced the launch of the Trump Accountability Project, which is designed to keep a tab on all of the President-elect’s and his cabinet’s “discriminatory and hateful statements.” This includes statements waged against the LGBTQ community, women, Muslims and others as well.

“I think we’re in a different place. We have an LGBTQ community, among other communities, that feel that we are living in a new America,” Sarah Kate Ellis,GLAAD CEO,  said in an interview with Newsweek. “We have had quite a bit of progress over the past years, and there are concerns that some of the progress is going to be rolled back.”

After the election cycle, which largely ignored VP-elect Mike Pence’s rampantly anti-LGBTQ history, GLAAD has made it their mission to hold the Trump administration’s and the media’s feet to the fire, by reporting on any and all discriminatory legislation, statements and anything else that may come up.

“First and foremost, the thing I woke up thinking about on November 9 were our youth and the message that this sent, especially to LGBTQ youth,” said Ellis. “And what a different culture and America we woke up in.”
