In response to the confusion, despair and fear many are feeling in the face of an imminent Trump presidency, George Takei has stepped forward to offer some advice on how to survive the “unthinkable.”
The Star Trek star and all-around gay icon took to Twitter to express his thoughts at the end of Election Day. Takei, himself a survivor of a Japanese-American internment camp during World War II, dedicated his message to “all who voted to defeat Donald Trump” who now find themselves in “unchartered waters.”
Instead of turning to panic, Takei advised his followers to be brave, encouraging them to “stand up defiantly to any dark or divisive acts and [to] look out for the most vulnerable among us.”
