Sweet Valley High, the series of young adult books that was published for over 20 years starting in the early ’80s, has fans excited all over again, as the popular franchise is about to get its own graphic novel series.

Hailing from Dynamite Entertainment, the upcoming series will continue to follow the adventures of identical twin sisters Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield.

“We are always looking for ways to expand our offerings for teen readers, and are thrilled to be able to publish the first-ever graphic novel series set in Sweet Valley, California,” said Dynamite CEO and publisher, Nick Barrucci.

The spin off even got an endorsement from series author Francine Pascal, who helped produce over 600 novels in the franchise.

“Fabulous!” Pascal said. “I love the idea of Elizabeth and Jessica in four-color action.”

The Sweet Valley High graphic novel series is set to debut in 2017.
