And we cannot leave out our black LGBT sisters and brothers especially those of us who are trans, who are discriminated against both by the police and within our community,” writer-podcaster Crissle West told co-host Franchesca Ramsey.

“We cannot ignore those of us who are more marginalized.”

Attorney General Loretta Lynch also called into the show to discuss recent events.

“Our country is suffering right now… people are in pain, people are lost, people are feeling despair,” said Lynch. “People are asking ’What do we do about this? Will this ever change?'”

She acknowledging that the younger generation is feeling increasingly cynical and distrustful about the police.

“I accept that and believe that, and we have to honor those points of view,” said Lynch. “But let’s large our point of view. Because we’re at a point now where we have the opportunity to make some change.”
