Richard Simmons: Focus On Love For LGBT Community, Not If I’m Transitioning

The weight loss guru broke his silence to speak out after the Orlando massacre.

Richard Simmons took to Facebook on Tuesday to express his condolences for the victims of the Orlando attack, and also spoke out for the first time about the rumors that he is transitioning.

“Some tabloids have recently falsely reported that I am transitioning,” Simmons wrote. “In response, I feel compelled to set the record straight and refute these lies. Although I am not transitioning, I have and always will be supportive of those who are going through their journey.”

He then focused that support towards those mourning the victims of the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub over the weekend.

“We should not lose focus on showing love, strength and compassion to all of the LGBT community during these tragic times,” he said. “My broken heart and healing thoughts are with the people of Orlando and all other victims of prejudice, bigotry and hate.”
