Thanks for the fierceness, boys!

Kazaky, the high-heeled dancing Ukrainian boy band that gained global notoriety in 2012 after appearing in Madonna’s “Girl Gone Wild” video, have officially called it quits.

In a statement posted to the group’s Facebook page on Saturday, current members — Kyryll Fedorenko, Artur Gaspar, Artemy Lazarev, and Oleg Zhezhel — announced the group would officially disband so that all members could focus on their solo careers and explore their own “personal art highways.”

“This is not a reason to be sad,” the statement reads in part. “It’s like cell division and the supernova explosion – the time is coming and something one is dividing and multiplying for new reasons. It’s time to have fun and create new interesting things and events.”

Formed in 2010, the group found viral fame when their debut music video “In the Middle” was praised for its androgynous style. In the years that followed, the guys released two studio albums, toured the globe performing at gay pride events, and hobnobbed their way into the fashion world, posing for fashion spreads in Attitude, GQ, and V magazine.

In the statement, Kazaky thanked their fans for five and a half years of wild success:

“We must say that our gratitude to you is boundless, you are our greatest achievement during these five and a half years. You have been and remain an essential part of our inspiration. Thanks to you we were able to make a fascinating journey, leave our contributions in a big and bright world of pop culture and show worthy modern face of Ukraine. And of course, we want to say a special gratitude to our Ukrainian fans, the society and the mass media for sincere interest, support and freedom of our expression without taboos and prejudices, without inhuman and degrading laws.”

“Remember, you’re the best, you’re special and you’re capable of anything. Never doubt yourself.”
