Memorials, candlelight vigils and moments of silence are being observed in cities around the globe today as the world stops to reflect on the violence that unraveled Saturday night at Orlando’s Pulse nightclub, where a homophobic gunman opened fire on a crowd, leaving 49 dead and 53 wounded.

The massacre has since been named the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

In addition to the services and memorials that cropped up in North America, several others were held around the world.

In London’s SoHo gayborhood, thousands of supporters gathered in the streets to stand in solidarity with the victims, hold a two-minute moment of silence, and release 49 brightly colored balloons in the air to represent the 49 dead:

At one point, the thousands that lined the street in front of the Adrmiral Duncan pub fell silent as the London Gay Men’s Chorus sang Simon and Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water”:

In Spain, mourners gathered at Barcelona’s Sant Jaume Square for a moment of silence and candlelight vigil:
They placed candles on a rainbow flag draped with a black crape outside Barcelona’s city hall, which was also decorated with a rainbow flag:

In France, thousands gathered in Paris and Montpellier to show support:

Near the Eiffel Tower, a sculpture on the Parvis des droits de l’homme was seen draped with a rainbow flag:
In Paris, Irish revelers stopped to pay their respects at a Euro 2016 football tournament fan zone:
In Denmark, mourners gathered at the US Embassy in Copenhagen:

In Italy, an event of solidarity was held in Turin. Those in attendance waved rainbow and U.S. flags:

In Poland, a colorful memorial cropped up outside the U.S. embassy in Warsaw:

Surprisingly enough, a memorial also showed up outside the U.S. embassy in Moscow, Russia:
In Thailand, mourners held a candle and ribbon ceremony at the U.S. embassy:

In Hong Kong, candles were lit as people held a moment of silence for those lives lost.

In Wellington, New Zealand, a crowd gathered at the The Michael Fowler Centre, which was lit up in rainbow colors for the evening:

In Australia, crowds gathered near the Sydney Harbour Bridge to lay flowers and pay respects:

In Germany, a memorial appeared outside the U.S. embassy in Berlin:

In Orlando, makeshift memorials popped up anywhere people found a free space within blocks of Pulse. In a parking lot near the club, supporters made a collage of painted hand prints to stand in solidarity with victims:

Another memorial appeared on the lawn outside the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center on Monday afternoon:

Another memorial is also currently standing at the Orlando Health sign near Pulse, at the corner of Miller Street and Orange Avenue:
