Target CEO Says Anti-Trans Protests Haven’t Hurt Sales

The store is keeping it's "commitment to diversity and inclusion."

The anti-LGBT nutjobs staging protests in Target stores nationwide over the company’s trans-inclusive bathroom policy may be filling up your news feeds, but they’re not doing anything to the company’s bottom line.

Speaking with Fortune Wednesday, Target CEO Brian Cornell said that while Target stock is down nearly 20% this quarter, stores haven’t been affected by the supposed boycott.

“You’ve heard us talk over the years about our commitment to diversity and inclusion,” said Cornell. “To date we have not seen a material or measurable impact on our business. Just a handful of stores across the country have seen some activity and have been impacted.”

Fortune added: “He did allow that just a few stores had some some protests and took a bit of a hit sales wise, but on the whole, the 1,800-store retailer didn’t feel anything.”
