Today marks the 10th anniversary of when pop icon Britney Spears made her guest appearance on the classic NBC sitcom, Will & Grace.
Britney Jean played Amber-Louise, a conservative Southern belle (and secret lesbian), in what was her debut acting performance on a prime-time series, and her television appearance since giving birth the previous September.
In 2006 Will & Grace was in its eighth and final season, and by the time the “Toxic” singer made her cameo she was far from the first superstar to guest star on the series. Britney wasn’t even the only celebrity on this episode, George Takei and Wanda Sykes also had screen time.
Even though this was Spears’ only stint on the sitcom, it wouldn’t be the last time she would use her comedic chops in front of the TV cameras. In 2008 she made a cameo on How I Met Your Mother and last year she played herself on The CW series, Jane the Virgin.
