March Madness: Craig by studio MG photography

From: Favorite Hunks & Other Things

'Gravity has no pull on him as he climbs up and over anything in his path!'

Most of us associate March Madness with the time of year the annual NCAA college basketball tournament is held. In researching the origin of the phrase it seems to date back to March 27th, 1939, the date the University of Oregon defeated Ohio State 46–33, to win the first-ever NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

On the page I was reading, there is also a throwaway line about it also being the phrase used to describe the main part of the breeding season of the European hare. With studio MG's energized and physical shots of model Craig Brown, both I guess could be creatively applied..

'The two basketball images he was amazing - Craig just jumped up from the floor, grabbed the net, and swung his body up and into the net - he made it look totally effortless. As I mentioned though it appears that gravity has no power over him - he was always climbing up and over anything in his path!'

I have seen studio MG's Mark shoot models in the air, on the side of walls and buildings, in windows, on mountains, beaches and sprawled across orange couches in long abandoned buildings.  I have featured Mark's imagery of a model playing basketball naked, but I think this is the first time I have featured a model ten feet in the air, straddling the hoop.

'Seldom have a had the pleasure of working with a model with such raw athleticism, paired with complete defiance of gravity, and no fear of dirt or grime!'

Craig's bravery isn't reserved only for swinging his body up onto basketball hoops. When it comes to his professional life, Craig says he is not scared of taking chances when it comes to going after his dreams. 'I am very emotional, loyal and brave and I know that life is short and that I shouldn't do something I'm not passionate about.'   Good thing for us, stripping down and defying those laws of gravity are on Craig's list of passions....  Whether those fee, or his body is firmly planted on the floor, or zooming high in the air, Mark's camera beautifully captured every step and leap along the way.
