Renee Montoya
With all the throwaway police officers Christopher Nolan cooked up in his Dark Knight trilogy, you’d think he could have included some GCPD fan favorites from the comics. Hopefully lesbian Detective Renee Montoya will make it into the mix, perhaps in the next stand-alone Batman film.
In current DC continuity, Montoya isn’t a superhero, but before the 2012 company reboot, she was the enigmatic Question, who skirted the line between justice and vengeance. In the comics, Renee had a complicated relationship with Batwoman and, on the small screen, she’s already appeared in Fox’s Gotham.
Orange is the New Black’s Laura Gómez could definitely embody this tough-as-nails woman whose no-nonsense attitude provides a stark contrast to both the costumed freaks and corrupt cops of Gotham City.
