“Solsbury Hill”

Peter Gabriel has had a remarkable solo career since leaving Genesis in the mid-70’s, and it all started with his first single “Solsbury Hill.” Unfortunately, it was largely ignored in America, peaking at #68 in 1977. But then two words happened that changed all that – romantic comedies. “Solsbury Hill” became the go-to song for romantic comedy trailers, so much so that it’s impossible to hear it and not think of Katherine Heigl (and it’s not just romantic comedies, just this week the trailer for Finding Dory was released, which prominently features … “Solsbury Hill.”)
